Westbury is a neighborhood in the Reisterstown area of Maryland. It is located right next to Franklin High School and is within proximity of the neighborhood of Academy Acres, MD.
Franklin High School is a public school that's a part of the Baltimore County Public School System. It is located near the intersection of Franking Blvd. and Reisterstown Rd. Established on Jan. 10, 1821, Franklin High School was initially a private school under the name "Franklin Academy." In 1848, the school went public. However, it wasn't until 1896 that Franklin High School got its name. Franklin High School is considered to be one of the oldest schools in the metropolitan area of Baltimore and the state of Maryland. Across the street from Franklin High School and the neighborhood of Westbury is the Reisterstown Shopping Center. The shopping center is home to the following stores:
There's also a Bank of America, Shell Gas Station, Wells Fargo Bank, Chick-fil-A Reisterstown, and Planet Fitness within the shopping plaza. Every Tuesday, the Planet Fitness of Reisterstown Shopping Center will also host a car meet for locals in the area to come show off their cars.
Located adjacent to the Reisterstown Shopping Center, on Academy Ln., is the Hannah More Skatepark. The park is 12,800-square-foot and features amenities such as a mini-half pipe with spine, grind box, dip, launch ramp with skate table, grind rail, skate bench, manual, grind ledge, drop-in combo, pyramid, and quarter-pipe. The Hannah More Skatepark is closed from Dec. to Feb. In March and Nov., it's closed on the weekdays and opened from noon to sunset during the weekends. From April through Oct., the park is opened from 3:30 p.m. to sunset on the weekdays. On the weekends, it's opened from non to sunset.
