On Tuesdays, it is open from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. During the summer season, it is open Mondays through Fridays from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Amenities offered at the Bentalou Recreation Center are room rentals, a kitchen, a dance room, a video and game room, use of the school gym, a basketball court and a playground.
Grace Medical Center is a private, nonprofit hospital near the south corner of the Lexington neighborhood. Originally known as Bon Secours Hospital, it was open in 1919 by the philanthropist George Jenkins. Located on the former 1795 Maryland Square mansion property, the Roman Catholic hospital had a mission to provide care for the sick and dying. On December 17, 2019, the hospital's name was changed to Grace Medical Center when the nonprofit healthcare corporation LifeBridge Health acquired it. This ended the hospital's 100 year association with the Sisters of Bon Secours – a Roman Catholic religious congregation that bought the Maryland Square property in the 1870s to use as a convent to provide healthcare to the community.
