A Brief History of Owings Mills

Owings Mills is an unincorporated community in the suburbs of Baltimore County, MD. It's a business hub for young professionals and commuters because of its easy access to I-795 and Baltimore, located only 20 minutes away. Owings Mills, MD, houses the Baltimore Ravens' headquarters facility and the Maryland Public Television's studios. In 2008, it was named number 49 on CNN Business' "100 Places to Live and Launch."

As of the 2010 census, Owings Mills' population consisted of 30,622 people.

This included the racial makeup of:

What to Do in Owings Mills?

When not spotting NFL players, visitors have the option of going to many of the attractions that Owing Mills has to offer. The Hubert V. Simmons Museum of the Negro League Baseball — located in the Owings Mills Branch of the Baltimore County Library — showcases the Negro League Baseball in the 20th century.

The Irvine Nature Center houses recreational amenities like trails, amphitheater, outdoor classroom and green exhibit hall. The center hosts many family nature programs and summer camps to educate and inspire people to respect and preserve nature. There's also the Soldier's Delight Natural Environment Area, where visitors can enjoy miles of walking trails.
