Seven Oaks is an unincorporated community located in Anne Arundel County, Maryland. Part of the Odenton census-designated place (CDP), it lies across from the NSA and Fort Meade. The community started development in 1987 and completed in 2002, with a total area of more than 725 acres of land. There are around 4,000 residential units in the area. This consists of single-family homes, townhomes, duplex homes and apartments. The main roads serving the community are Town Center Blvd., Charter Oaks Blvd., Blue Water Blvd., and Maryland Route 32 ( Patuxent Fwy). Seven Oaks is within the Anne Arundel County Public Schools District. Families with children living in the area are zoned for Seven Oaks Elementary School, MacArthur Middle School and Meade High School.
Seven Oaks Elementary School is one of the designated schools for students in Seven Oaks. Situated in the center of the community on Town Center Blvd., the school is ranked 492 out of 853 Maryland elementary schools on SchoolDigger. It also has a Niche overall grade of a B minus and a GreatSchools rating of 5 out of 10. Seven Oaks Elementary offers classes for students from grades pre-Kindergarten through 5th. There is a population of 612 students and a student-to-teacher ratio of 16 to 1. Based on test scores recorded by the state, 34% of its students are proficient in reading, and 31% are in math.
The Charter Oaks Community Center is located on Charter Oaks Blvd., where the Seven Oaks Community Association operates. The center is well maintained and features amenities such as:
Exercise equipment provided at the gym includes three treadmills, three bikes, a bench press, leg press, fly machine, bicep curl, and many more. The center also offers rentals to homeowners in the community of Seven Oaks. Between Memorial Day (5/31) and Labor Day (first Monday in September), the community center is open Mondays through Fridays from 6 in the morning to 8 p.m. and Saturdays and Sundays from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Between Labor Day and Memorial Day, it is open Mondays through Fridays from 6 a.m. to 8 p.m. and Saturdays through Sundays from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. The pool is open daily from 11 to 8 p.m., from Memorial Day Weekend to Labor Day Weekend.
The Seven Oaks Shopping Center was created to provide residents of the community with a place to shop and dine. It lies on the corner of Annapolis Rd. and Blue Water Blvd. Some of the occupants of the shopping center include Weis Market, America's Best Wings, RBR- Technologies, Inc, Angelina's Pizza and Pasta, SecuLore Solutions, Patriots Child Care Center, and Transformations Fitness for Women | Odenton, Seven Oaks Cleaners, and Nails Today.
