Irvine Nature Center

This article is brought to you by the personal injury attorneys in Owings Mills, at Blank Kim Injury Law, who encourage friends and family to get outdoors and enjoy the fresh air and all that nature has to offer.

Irvine Nature House was established at St. Timothy's School in Stevenson, Md., in 1975 in an old barn. Today, Irvine is the region's only private, non-profit nature center. The nature center provides visitors with over 500 environmental educational programs yearly.

Along with their variety of educational programs and workshops, visitors are welcome to explore over 200 acres of forest, wetlands, and meadows that they look after. Their interactive exhibits are offered to the public free of charge and focus on the natural science of the woodlands.

Exploring The Nature Center

Located northwest of Baltimore, the Irvine Nature Center hosts over 95,000 guests in their education center annually. Visitors of the center can enjoy the indoor green center that offers tons of exhibits that feature plants, animals, and ecosystems.

Irvine's Harry and Jeanette Weinberg Environmental Education Building also provides visitors with more information about the programs and classes that they offer.

You can then step outside and spend the day exploring the 211 acres of the natural landscape. Find over 8 miles of hiking trails, a variety of gardens that feature native plants, and an outdoor-style classroom for children to engage in interactive experiences.

Don't forget to stop into the Butterfly House for an up-close surreal experience stepping into the habitat of native butterflies from the monarch, swallowtail, and painted lady.

There's so much to explore while at the nature center, so be sure to pack some lunch and plan your day discovering all the fun and exciting indoor and outdoor exhibits that Irvine Nature Center provides.
