As of the 2010 census, this unincorporated area has a total population of 9,895 and a total area of 1.5 square miles. Based on the population density of the area, Coral Hills is considered an urban neighborhood. As of 2019, the estimated median household income for residents living in this neighborhood is $60,039. Before 2009, the John E. Howard Community Center was the John Edgar Howard Elementary School. Currently, it is operated by the Prince George's County Department of Parks and Recreation. The center is open from Monday to Thursday from 3 p.m. to 9 p.m. On Fridays, it is opened an additional hour, so from 3 p.m. to 10 p.m. On Saturdays, it is only open from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. The center is closed on Sundays for private rentals. The center also offers programs like the Seniors Programs, Xtreme Teens Programs, and Youth After School Activities. The Xtreme Teens Programs are host on Fridays and Saturdays from 7 to 10 p.m.
The Oakcrest Community Center is located in the same facility as the William W. Hall Academy and the Oakcrest Country Club. It can be found on the corner of Marlboro Pike and Capitol Heights Blvd. the center features similar amenities to John E. Howard Community Center. However, unlike the other center, this one also has a basketball court, classroom, dance room and fitness room. The center also has additional programs like the Prince George's County Boys and Girls Club and summer camps. Close by the center is another recreational area called the Brook Road Recreation Center.
As the only shopping area in Coral Hills, the Coral Hills Shopping Center caters to all the residents of the community. Stores like Compare Foods Supermarket, T-Mobile, Family Dollar, Mega Hair 2000, Coral Hills Seafood & Crab, Beauty Palace Beauty Supply and AutoZone Auto Parts.
