Aaron Blank co-founded Blank Kim Injury Law and practices from the firm’s Maryland offices. His work centers on medical negligence and catastrophic injury: the cases that turn on records, timelines and physician testimony rather than on a quick insurance settlement.
He grew up in Baltimore and built his career in the DMV. Parents of injured children come to him often, and he has said that helping a family secure what a lifetime of care actually costs is the part of the job he values most.
What Aaron handles
Aaron’s caseload is weighted toward medical negligence and the injuries that change what a life looks like afterward:
- Medical malpractice, including missed and delayed diagnosis
- Birth injury, including oxygen deprivation at delivery
- Brain and spinal cord injury
- Construction and workplace injury
- Wrongful death
- Nursing home neglect and abuse
- Sexual abuse claims against individuals and institutions
He also litigates the insurance side of injury claims that most firms treat as routine: uninsured and underinsured motorist disputes, declaratory judgment actions and interpleaders, where the fight is over which policy pays and how much.
Before plaintiff’s work
Before moving to plaintiff’s personal injury practice, Aaron practiced criminal defense, handling white collar matters including healthcare fraud and tax cases, as well as violent felonies in state and federal court.
That background matters in a malpractice case for an unglamorous reason: defending a healthcare fraud prosecution means learning to read medical billing and clinical records closely, and those are the same documents that decide whether a diagnosis was missed.
How Aaron works with clients
Aaron handles the explaining himself, from the first consultation through resolution. Medical negligence cases are slow, document-heavy and technical, and clients are usually living through the consequences while the case proceeds.
He works with medical experts and co-counsel where a case calls for it, and he will tell a family when he does not believe a claim can be proven rather than filing it and letting it collapse later.
Outside the office, Aaron plays bass guitar and travels.
