Clifton Park Valve House is a historical landmark located on St. Lo Dr. in Clifton Park. Built between 1887 and 1888, it is a magnificent Gothic revival architectural style stone and tile-roofed structure. The building was built to house the machinery used to operate Lake Clifton. However, it was no longer needed in 1962 when the lake was filled up in the development of Lake Clifton High School. Left abandoned, it was added to the National Register of Historic Places (NRHP) in 1971. Currently, Baltimore City owns the building.
The Councilwoman Rita R. Church Community Center is one of the four facilities created from Mayor Stephanie Rawlings-Blake's plan for a network of high-quality, multi-use centers. It was dedicated on July 15, 2013, and named after the long-time Baltimore City 3rd District Councilperson.
The community center features a community room, fitness room, game room, computer lab, multipurpose room, kitchen, outdoor pool, locker room, and arts and crafts room. The center is also in the designing stage of adding a new 11,500-square-foot gymnasium to the facility. It will include concession stands for special events, larger community meeting spaces, restrooms, and recreation activities like basketball, volleyball and indoor soccer league. Located on St. Lo Dr., the Rita R. Church Community Center is open from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. on Mondays through Fridays and from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturdays.
Real Food Farm Clifton is owned and operated by Civic Works. It is an innovative urban agricultural enterprise providing fresh local produce for eight communities in northeast Baltimore. The farm is located in Clifton Park and covers 6-acres of land. It is home to four outdoor fields, eight hoophouses, a sensory garden, an education and events pavilion, a small greenhouse, a large gas-heated greenhouse, a solar-powered walk-in refrigerator, and over 100 fruit trees. It is open Mondays through Saturdays from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. On Thursdays, the farm is also open from 4:30 p.m. to 7 p.m.
