It is accredited by the Association of Independent Maryland & DC Schools and the Middle States Association of Colleges and Schools. As an International Baccalaureate World School, Mercy High School offers its students the Middle years Programme. It is also the only Catholic girls' school in Baltimore City with playing fields on the campus. The Mt. Pleasant Ice Arena is off to the east side of the Idlewood neighborhood. Situated on the corner of E. Northern Pkwy. and Hillen Rd. in Mt. Pleasant Woods Park, the arena features an NHL-regulation size indoor ice rink that is accessible to the public. It offers skating sessions, sled hockey, ice hockey, broomball, figure skating and skating lessons. Operated by the Baltimore City Department of Recreation and Parks, the arena also provides a multipurpose room, a conference room, and a front lobby that's available for rental. The venue is a perfect space for private parties and social events. Birthday parties, fundraisers, family reunions, and skating with Santa events have all been hosted at Mt. Pleasant Ice Arena.

Located on the other side of Hillen Rd. is Mt. Pleasant Woods Park. It is also owned and operated by the Baltimore City Department of Recreation and Parks.
