The Golden Ring Shopping Center, or the Centre at Golden Ring, is a shopping center that caters to the residents of Rossville, Maryland. Located on Philadelphia Rd., the shopping center was opened as the "Golden Ring Mall" on Oct. 28th, 1974. Created by developers Melvin, Simon & Associates, the mall had anchors like Stewart's, Hecht's and Montgomery Ward. There was also an installation from Americal sculptor and painter Rita Blitt featured there. In 1998, Simon Property Group put the mall up for sale. It was purchased and demolished by Virginia developer Petrie, Dierman, and Kughn. In 2002, the property was reopened as the Centre at Golden Ring. The anchors for this shopping center are now Walmart, Sam's Club and The Home Depot. Some of the other stores located here are Shoe City, Dollar Tree, Marshalls, Unlimited Sky Talk and Rent-A-Center.
