North Chevy Chase is a village in the county of Montgomery, Maryland. Located at 30.001709 degrees north latitude and 77,093908 degrees west longitude, it has a total area of 0.11 square miles. It lies on the Clean Drinking plantation, a former colonial land grant. Residential development didn't start in the area until the early 1900s. William H. Walker laid out the community and began selling lots. In 1924, it was established as a Special Tax District. Later in 1996, it was incorporated as a village. The main roads serving the village are the Capital Beltway, Connecticut Ave. and Jones Bridge Rd.

North Chevy Chase has a total population of 591 people. The village offers a rural feel with many parks and coffee shops. 91% of the residents living in the area own their own homes. The Woodend Sanctuary offers visitors wildflower meadows, woodland trails, native plant gardens and a pond with aquatic life.

Also included at the preserve is the Audubon Naturalist Shop. It is housed in the historic Georgian mansion that was once part of the 40 acres estate of Chester and Marion Wells. The shop is open daily from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. It is closed on Wednesdays and Sundays. Products sold at the Audubon Naturalist Shop are birdseeds, feeders & houses, suet & seed cakes, books, coffee, puzzles, boxed notecards, camp & children's items, and binoculars & scopes.

North Chevy Chase Local Park

North Chevy Chase Local Park is a neighborhood park on Jones Bridge Rd. It is operated by Montgomery County's Montgomery Park and is open from sunrise to sunset. Recreational amenities featured at the park are a baseball field, soccer fields, a playground, a tennis court and a public activity building.
