Arbour Green is a neighborhood in Baltimore County, Maryland. Located at 38.6912 degrees north latitude and 76.6311 degrees west longitude, it is a subdivision of the area of White Marsh. Served by the Baltimore County Public Schools District, homes within the neighborhood are zoned for Joppa View Elementary School, Honeygo Elementary School, Perry Hall Middle School and Perry Hall High School.
Perry Hall High School is a school located just outside the southern portion of the Arbour Green neighborhood. It was established in 1963 at 4300 Ebenezer Rd. On Sept. 6, the school opened its door to sophomores and juniors living in the area. These students would have otherwise been zoned for Parkville High School or Overlea High School. Its first principal was Maynard E. Keadle, and its first graduates were the class of 1965. In 1967, the school was moved to 5601 Ebenezer Rd. to accommodate the growing student population. It was at this location that the movie Hairspray filmed its scenes in 1987.
Perry Hall High School currently has an enrollment count of 1,974 students in grades 9th through 12th. The student to teacher ratio is 16 to 1. Based on state test scores., 57% of the students are proficient in reading and 38% are in math. The high school has an overall Niche grade of a B plus and a GreatSchools rating of a 3 out of 10.
Indian Rock Park is situated on the west side of Perry Hall High School. It was dedicated in 2009 as Perry Hall's newest preserved open space. The park serves the residents of Perry Hall, White Marsh, and Arbour Green as a natural green space in the community. The property is 16.5 acres and opens daily from 6 a.m. to 8 p.m.
The park features a nature trail for visitors to enjoy its forest settings. The Indian Rock Northeast Trail is a 1.1 mile out-and-back trail. It is used for hiking, walking, and running and is suitable for all skill levels.
The Honeygo Run Regional Park Community Center is a park offering indoor and outdoor recreational facilities to the people of Arbour Green. Situated on Honeygo Blvd., the community center is owned and operated by the Baltimore County Department of Recreation and Parks. It includes amenities such as:
The Perry Paw Dog Park is a private dog park in the Honeygo Run Regional Park Community Center. It is open from 7 a.m. to 9 p.m. and must require an access card to enter. Dogs also must have on their identification tags. Children under 12 cannot enter the park. Memberships for the park cost $30 per household for up to two dogs. To register, visitors can go on to the park's official website. Registration requires a copy of the animal license and current rabies vaccination records.
